In our employee spotlight blog series, we get up-close and personal with some of the wonderful team members at Numeric Eight. Today, we get to know Vanessa Wong, Senior Account & On-boarding Manager.

How long have you worked at Numeric Eight?

8 years.

What do you do at Numeric Eight?

Senior Account & On-boarding Manager – I have dual responsibilities in my role:

  • To assist new clients to on-board smoothly with Numeric Eight. This could include setting up an individual accounts email, sorting out chart of accounts and reporting format, reviewing and suggesting changes to bookkeeping processes if required.
  • To manage my portfolio of clients and ensure the clients’ accounts are managed in the most accurate, effective and efficient manner.

Before working at Numeric Eight, what was the most unusual or interesting job you had?

6 months before joining Numeric Eight in 2014, I was casually working as a teaching support in a primary school in lower North Shore while I was studying Certificate III in Education Support. I was working with classroom teachers to support individual year 1, 3 and 6 students who required special attention and assistance to catch up on their curriculum and studies. It was very challenging but one of the most rewarding jobs that I have ever done. Although it was a very short period of time, I could bond with the individual children and see them moving forward one step a time.

What drew you to Numeric Eight originally? And how has Numeric Eight changed since?

When I first joined Numeric Eight as a Team Leader in 2014, I reported mostly to Trudi. Not only was I drawn to the care and commitment of the team for our clients, but also Trudi’s energy and (superfast) forward-thinking approach to delivering high quality client work. She is one of my great mentors in my career journey! 6 months after joining Numeric Eight, I was promoted as an Account Manager to own my portfolio of clients. 2 years ago, I started taking on more responsibility by assisting to on-board new clients. I absolutely love the variety of my role at Numeric Eight.

At Numeric Eight, I am privileged to work with Trudi and a supportive team. I witnessed and experienced the team growing from one office to two offices. Thanks to Trudi and the hard work of the team. Now in my 8th year working at Numeric Eight, I am still enjoying working and  growing with the team day by day.
