In our employee spotlight blog series, we get up-close and personal with some of the wonderful team members at Numeric Eight. Today, we get to know Gina Roberts, Account Manager.

How long have you worked at Numeric Eight?

11yrs 4mths.

What do you do at Numeric Eight?

Account Manager – Working with my team we look after the finance functions for a variety of clients, ranging from professional services to an ice-cream factory, to hairdressers and everything in between. We pay their wages, pay their suppliers, chase debtors, do bank reconciliations and provide monthly management reporting to the business owners.

Before working at Numeric Eight, what was the most unusual or interesting job you had?

Unusual – 1987 sales person at art exhibitions in Perth for the official photographer of the America’s Cup.

Interesting – 10yrs in the stockbroking industry in Perth has resulted in an ongoing interest in equities markets.

What drew you to Numeric Eight originally? And how has Numeric Eight changed since?

My previous roles were in office management & sales, with global service office group Regus. I was responsible for P & L management for their Darling Park & Citigroup centres in Sydney.

I became more interested in the numbers, rather than sales!!…..and so commenced studying Accountancy at TAFE at night. After 10 years with Regus I decided to put my newfound accounting knowledge to use, so commenced applying for bookkeeping roles, the 2nd of which was with Numeric Eight….the rest is history!

In May 2010 when I joined Numeric Eight, the office was located in Atchison Street, St Leonards and comprised about 9 staff. Since then the business has grown to 30+ team members, and Numeric Eight has become the largest privately owned Bookkeeping firm in Australia. It has been an absolute privilege to work with Trudi, to be part of that journey and to be involved with a dynamic, and ever growing business.
